چکیده

This paper introduces a B ezier curve-based mechanism for constructing membership functions of convex normal fuzzy sets. The mechanism can fit any given data set with a minimum level of discrepancy. In the absence of data, the mechanism can be intuitively manipulated by the user to construct membership functions with the desired shape. Some numerical experiments are included to compare the performance of the proposed mechanism with conventional methods. 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

A TS Fuzzy Model Derived from a Typical Multi-Layer Perceptron

In this paper, we introduce a Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy model which is derived from a typical Multi-Layer Perceptron Neural Network (MLP NN). At first, it is shown that the considered MLP NN can be interpreted as a variety of TS fuzzy model. It is discussed that the utilized Membership Function (MF) in such TS fuzzy model, despite its flexible structure, has some major restrictions. After modify...

Role of Heuristic Methods with variable Lengths In ANFIS Networks Optimum Design and Training

ANFIS systems have been much considered due to their acceptable performance in terms of creation of fuzzy classifier and training. One main challenge in designing an ANFIS system is to achieve an efficient method with high accuracy and appropriate interpreting capability. Undoubtedly, type and location of membership functions and the way an ANFIS network is trained are of considerable effect on...

Buckling and vibration analysis of angle -ply symmetric laminated composite plates with fully elastic boundaries

The main focus of this paper is on efficiency analysis of two kinds of approximating functions (characteristic orthogonal polynomials and characteristic beam functions) that have been applied in the Rayleigh-Ritz method to determine the non-dimensional buckling and frequency parameters of an angle ply symmetric laminated composite plate with fully elastic boundaries. It has been observed that o...

An Approach for Accurate Edging using Dynamic Membership Functions

In this paper, by means of fuzzy approaches, an accurate method is introduced for edging of color photographs. The difference between our method with other similar methods is the use of a morphological operation to think or thick the obtained edges. In this proposed method, a 3×3 window is dragged on the photo. For each block, 12 point sets will be defined, each including two non-overlapping po...

FUZZY IDEALS OF NEAR-RINGS WITH INTERVAL VALUED MEMBERSHIP FUNCTIONS

In this paper, for a complete lattice L, we introduce interval-valued L-fuzzy ideal (prime ideal) of a near-ring which is an extended notion of fuzzy ideal (prime ideal) of a near-ring. Some characterization and properties are discussed.
